    Pros

    Compensation above job market.
    Benefits above job market.

    Cons

Non-existent 'work/life' balance because of manufacturing shifts.
Operations/support personnel is treated as a replaceable object at any time.

    Advice to Management

After eight years of dedicated service (with more than four hundred hours accrued of paid leave), the person who would inform you of the benefits earned (after accepting another job offer) wasn't even a company employee but a contractor.

  2. A lot of room to move up in the company or move to other job areas

    Pros

The interview and first couple years were Ok. Great working conditions. People were Ok, however most were pre-occupied or stayed in small cliques or groups.

    Cons

Never felt like part of my group. Always felt like it was a very conservative old line Pharma company. Would preach one thing and do another. People were Ok, however most were pre-occupied or stayed in small cliques or groups. saw lots of people "reallocated" never felt safe.

    Advice to Management

Keep working to improve and dissolve walls between groups. Be honest with people

    Pros

All employees respect their coworkers and have honest concerns to bring positive solutions to the customer. Good atmosphere and many perks on site to make work life balance easy.

    Cons

Management is not honest or sincere, and tends to be perspective driven instead of using facts. Company is adjusting to the external forces of the pharmaceutical industry and as such had been in a consistent reduction mode for years. Limitations on career options.

    Advice to Management

Become more transparent and lead by example. Many good people in the company want to help overall, but need direction to properly adjust their workload.

    Pros

Ok place to work has a great history of valuing the employee and developing talent

    Cons

Research has NOT delivered on new products. Company is committed to blockbuster drugs only and because of patent losses has fallen on hard times with many employees being furloughed and fear reigns supreme as folks wonder who it the next to be let go.

    Advice to Management

Too late to shut the barn door the horses are already well and out and down the road. Go back and read what JK Lilly had to say about the employees and their value....

    Pros

A once great company. Just like the history says, Colonel Eli Lilly (founder) first commercialized insulin and treated millions of people. That was the late 1800's and to revive that legacy, Lilly needs to find something great again. If you follow the news lately, Lilly's embattled pipeline includes a "has been" product patented to be administered with vitamins. Something great???? maybe.

    Cons

What does charging thousands of dollars to use a vitamin with an off patent product say about Excellence, Integrity and Respect for People? Time to start developing those first line drugs again. Yes, room to improve, a lot of space, actually.

    Advice to Management

Foresight is first. Being Hoosier is secondary. Hire a wider range of people who think different.
