I have been working at Eli Lilly full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Lilly is a great company that truly cares about doing the right thing for its employees. Lilly does a nice job allowing employees to explore other career options internally that meet their job qualifications. Lilly encourages employees to develop internal mentors and drive this process through internal networking. Career options have increased outside Indianapolis vs. years in the past.

    Cons

Lilly needs to continue to work to make decisions more quickly. Communication is key to this process especially between corporate employees and field employees.

    I worked at Eli Lilly

    Pros

Still have some best in class products. Trying to still invest in training at all levels in a very positive way. Great benefits. Time off is more than fair.

    Cons

Huge downsizing still continuing. Not sure why this is still occurring on an ongoing basis at this dramatic rate. People are constantly in fear of being reallocated. Compliance policies are stricter than many competitors.

I worked at Eli Lilly full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Some opportunities to explore different roles

    Cons

overly-conservative, require 3 years in a role before you can move to another or be considered for promotion, if you change roles within that 3 years your eligibility for promotion requires another 3 years. When I was there, telecommuting was prohibited by management - but there were some that were allowed to continue it. VERY conservative.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop being so stupid.
