I worked at Elite Marketing Group full-time

    Pros

The job was great in terms of having a change of scenery each day and learning a variety of interpersonal skills. It was basically a sales training position where we spoke to the merchants about our products and services and taught them how to activate new accounts.

    Cons

The client's SaaS was awful, the technical customer service was awful and the actual wireless service did not work well in many areas.

    Advice to Management

Due to the competitive landscape of this industry, management must take communication from the field seriously and implement working strategies that have been identified as ineffective from a sales point of view.

    Pros

Love working at the airport. Active, busy environment. Can earn more than hourly wage through incentive pay. Two at a booth usually - not working totally alone. Most associates are kind and have integrity. Responsive, intelligent, commited management at the local level. Company invests in new people with both local on site training and product training. Great job for self motivated people! Not for people who are lazy, who gossip and who are not team players.

    Cons

Company holds back one two week pay period. Net affect is new people do not receive any compensation for one month. In addition employee will not receive the two weeks worth of work compensation until they leave the company. This is stressful and, yes, painful for the employee. People need their money. Think about how this may be affecting morale. Put yourself in new person's position. Think about how this may be affecting longevity of employment after your initial investment of training, etc. How you are perceived by your employee can affect your bottom line, obviously.

    Advice to Management

Face to face communication with staff on a regular basis. Model happy, positive demeanor. Stop holding back employees pay.

Sounds great in the beginning but ends up being just a job

I worked at Elite Marketing Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility in hours, biweekly pay, manager was easy to talk to

    Cons

Comp plan changed often, very little sales training, always changing the rules on what we could say and do, managers couldn't make a decision without asking corporate office. Too much micro management

    Advice to Management

Lead your staff more and stop micro managing everything.

    Pros

Pay is great if you can sell to random flyers walking by catching a flight
Fun group of people to work with, freedom to be independent, flexible schedule early day or mid, NO late nights, shorts hours for rewarding compensation, time off when needed, work life balance.

    Cons

Pay changes frequently, direct deposits are sometimes delayed, airport workers don't respect our sales approach, a lot of complaints which can be stressful, when sales are low they push you to be unethical to look good for the day, unpaid meetings once a month, high turnover for those that are average producers, pay rate change so real money is hard to make now.

    Advice to Management

Remain ethical, don't micro manage to increase sales, pay your staff on time, have meetings on company time not personal, stop changing the pay when reps make to much money,
