    Pros

The size of the company allows you to really get exposed to so much more than just your function. It is privately held, so decisions don't have to pander to quarterly earnings call q&a sessions. You are perceived to be a much bigger company with more clout than you really have because of how big the brands appear to be. Given broad responsibility to manage rather than a small piece of the pie. You can make a great career is you are self driven to seek and make opportunities.

    Cons

Scale of the company makes it hard to compete with competitors. Customers are competing too with private label. Low level of investment priority from the owners, development and brand budgets are small. Lots of organizational and leadership changes. Shorter term forward looking view. Need more presense in community, have little visibility. Few "people" initiatives.

    Advice to Management

Reinstitute performance management structure and make employee development available to more than just a select chosen few.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Great brands and good talented people who wok hard to meet the objectives. Reasonable and fair ownership team that treats employees well.

    Cons

Relatively small business that has limited resources to play with the big players. Good brands but positon is slipping due to lack of investment.

    Advice to Management

Current business strategy is not optimal for the long term growth of the brand. Great brands and good people over deliver.
