    Pros

Working for Elon, you truly feel a strong sense of community across campus. Expect to work with other departments on a regular basis, so this helps a lot. The university is almost obsessed with doing things perfectly, but this means your job is valued, and the people you are surrounded by truly, genuinely care about their day-to-day work.

    Cons

Not the best location for a young, single person (but nearby Greensboro & Durham/Chapel Hill are great). Largest concern is the presence of those who "drank the kool aid", and live and breath the university. These are the individuals around you who won't understand a true work/life balance. There are not always concrete actions to be seen for this, but more so the social climate for staff members on campus. This is certainly not every area on campus, but something to be aware of. Other than this, don't expect a great HR/development presence on campus. Each office/department is overly compartmentalized, so employee development can be lacking in some offices.

    Advice to Management

Have more thorough oversight across campus to monitor inequalities in office climate/professional development.

    Pros

Amazing opportunities for students who are ambitious and have a go-getter mentality.

    Cons

Their seems to be a upper middle class white privilege culture at times; however, if you truly care to find racial as well as socio-economic diversity it is definitely here and growing!

    Advice to Management

Reward students for going to conferences and traveling to listen to speakers even if it means missing a course. Education goes far beyond the limitations of the classroom.

    Pros

Good salary for those without an advanced degree. Good work culture in every department. Elon University is constantly growing and will only continue to be nationally recognized as one of the best universities in the nation.

    Cons

Long hours, always plenty (sometimes too much) work but Elon will not add additional employees. Has a competitive/pressurized feel to it.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget to concentrate on internal and not always on external feel.
