I worked at Embratel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The environment at Embratel is very friendly. Departments work together to achieve goals. Managers are well prepared to deal with daily needs. Staff appreciation programs and Profit share

    Cons

After the merge with Claro the company started reducing staff, which is overwhelming for remaining team.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing the good work to motivate your employers, but don't forget to keep the work flow reasonable.

    I worked at Embratel full-time

    Pros

    - Salary and benefits are in the market average. - The company's location is good for public transport users.

    Cons

My work in Embratel was my worst professional experience. - Total disregard to the Job Description - A "board" unfocused and without market knowledge - Nonexistent management - Highly unmotivated teams - Key managers totally unprepared for the role and much more...

    Advice to Management

Being a family business with a DNA of a state enterprise, any advice will be useful.

    Pros

A place where there is much opportunity for learning, with professionals who know a lot of the telecom sector. I do not see many positives besides learning and business location (Rio de Janeiro).

    Cons

Family business with a highly centralized administration. There is no strong presence of HR. The work environment is bad with a very bad infrastructure.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Embratel full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - It was one of better companies to work for in Brazil during the 1970 and 1980, huge investments in technology and HR development -Some of the technical staff still are the best professionals in telecom and IT market in Brasil

    Cons

    - Salaries below the market average - HR development isn't anymore a concern of the new management - Company has lost its identity due a several financial groups taking hold and leaving the company

    Advice to Management

Please, rise the salaries of the technical staff, it's a shame that very good professionals that worked along me 10-15 years ago are earning only 10% greater salary!

    Pros

Embratel logomark is very established in Brazil. You can add in your Curriculum "I´VE WORKED IN EMBRATEL". It´s used to say that Embratel is a very good school for great engineers and technical people, because the equipment investment and telecom network are the greatest in Brazil and Latin America.

    Cons

It´s #ONLY# a "time do construct curriculum", because the carreer and growing expectatives are #VERY# low and enterprise employee recognizing is null. The salary is under the market average and the interference of "political facts" in technical decisions causes sometimes 30% to 40% of proctivity reducing...

    Advice to Management

Try to "cut down" the "public enterprise skill" came from the "old Embratel". Clean the technical decisions considering ONLY technical facts, fire the "political guys" those take decisions based in personal advantages and interests. There is a 40% to 60% of production - meaning $ - hidden in the "Embratel undergrounds", under the personal interests and the "strange decisions". My personal advice for JOSE FORMOSO MARTINEZ is to uncover the "Embratel´s operations diagram" because he will find, even very near him, VERY MUCH fund$ being misused to pessonal interests, and other amout lost by corrupted administration.

  10. Já foi um ótimo lugar para se trabalhar. Mas, perdeu a identidade e agora está muito em custos.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Embratel full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Advice to Management

Invistam mais em retenção de talentos. Procurem uma identidade única pois as fusões transformaram os nichos em castelos. Principalmente, invistam no pós-venda. Ele é o maior argumento de vendas.
