    Pros

    Work life balance, great employees

    Cons

Too much red tape, too many levels of approval needed

Trust the employees that you hired

    Pros

benefits, but they are still poor.

    Cons

Management and not being willing to listen and understand life's hurdles.

    Advice to Management

Be more compassionate and don't just always assume the worst. Found out it wasn't true didn't you? No apology either.

    Pros

Young environment, but if you aren't in the "in crowd", you wont make it very far.

    Cons

Management is VERY judgmental and will only hire "hot blondes" because "it will make more sales". If you are not part of the "boys club" you will be shunned and pushed out of the company.

    Advice to Management

Stop being so judgmental and give everyone a chance and take the time to learn and listen for your employees. If you want a successful company, you cant only hire candidates on how they look.

    Pros

Good work-life balance. If you or your family have an emergency, management very understanding. Micro-managing not oppressive except at end of quarters depending on your manager. Most people there are good to work with. Extra sales incentives at certain times of year. Mostly young (22-30) so has a work hard, play hard feel for majority of employees.

    Cons

Can be VERY cliquish. Feels like if you are not one of the boys (or certain girls) that your chances for advancement are slim to none. Some members of senior management care more than others as they can be very stand-offish. Commission structure unlike any Ive ever had in any other sales job, needs to be reworked.

    Pros

Emergent is a small start up backed by a stable well established company. Emergent runs as its own business unit allowing for the flexibility and opportunity of a start up.

    Cons

When reliance does fall on the established company, the big corporate aspect is felt and slows down progress.

    Pros

Excellent work environment. Lot's of highly energetic workers. Pay is decent, about average in the industry. The opportunity to learn at Emergent is very high. You are quickly working very closely with manufacturers and customers. They try to balance work life but there are high expectations during peak times.

    Cons

Like any sales job, there can be a lot of pressure to perform. During peak times like end of Govt. Yr or the end of a quarter you are expect to put in longer hours.

    Advice to Management

Hopefully you keep growing the company which will allow for more room for growth. Internal systems have improved a lot but still need to improve more.

    Pros

Fast paced competitive atmosphere. Work hard-play hard culture with plenty of opportunity for growth and development. You learn A LOT!

    Cons

Not enough hours in the day!

    Advice to Management

The IT landscape is forever changing, we need to remain steadfast and stick to our mission.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

There are a couple "real" people who are very welcoming and friendly who will actually talk with you! Emergent spoils us with food/drinks in the office BUT...you work a 12 hour day and can't leave. Oh, and you might get shunned if you go to the bathroom.

    Cons

Management. Growth. Training. Pay. Hours. Co-workers. People's Attitudes. NO work/life balance. PTO. Career growth. Don't expect to make a lot of money unless you've been there for 5 years. It's a very clicky company and you don't fit in unless you're friends with current employees.

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone the same. Stop hitting on your female sales reps. Allow your sales reps to leave their desk to discuss opportunities and projects with other co-workers without getting upset about someone not being stuck in their chair with cement.
