I have been working at Emerson Process Management full-time

    Pros

My experience has been management is very hands off and allows their employees to work at their own pace. Some of the training and education opportunities are very good. The culture is very nice but a bit old.

    Cons

Raises, salary, and benefits are average to poor. The benefits are not particularly good. There is only one option for the medical and it's not particularly good. The dental and vision are mediocre at best. Raises are 2% to 4%, I've never heard of anything higher than that. There is no bonus or profit sharing. Salary tend to be below average.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The vacation policy is out of date. 7 years of employment is a very long time to wait for a 3rd week of vacation. There's absolutely no bonus system, perk points are a joke, so the salary has to be competitive and it's not.

I worked at Emerson Process Management full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Each local office has their own HR management and bring in any one who classified as their friend

    Cons

They did not keep verbal promises and used all kind of excuse for not increase the raise in salary

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't promise if you can not keep. You should listen to both parties when it comes to complaining. and judge people for the whole year of their work not just one day that you were not happy about the employee

I have been working at Emerson Process Management full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Employment opportunities for engineers right out of school
-Employment opportunities for engineers in sales, marketing, product development, product management and more

    Cons

-You must be an engineer to be hired for a position in sales, marketing, product development, product management
-President and 99% of VPs, Directors, etc. are engineers and not receptive to having anyone but an engineer in a Marketing Director, Marketing Manager, Marketing Product Manager (called Marketing Engineer) or Product Manager role
    -Pay is under market value

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want to reach the sales goals you have projected, it is time to wake up and hire marketing people for marketing roles. If you need to have surgery, do you hire an accountant to do the surgery? Why would you hire an engineer to do marketing? It is two professions with different skillsets.
