    Pros

    Global company
    Leader in some fields
    Big name
    Safety oriented

    Cons

    Lack of development plan
    No incentive program
    Weak HR department
Promotions only reachable to US and Europe employees
    focused on cost reductions

    Advice to Management

Eliminate the focus on cost reductions and create a more motivating career development plan for employees. Some employees loose passion for their work due to a lack a vision from top management

    Pros

The company is very profitable and stable. Many people there have been there for years and turn over seemed to be pretty low.

    Cons

Overall the company is very inflexible in terms of time and working from home. In addition only starting wih two weeks vacation (at a senior level role) made it very hard to have the type of work life balance I was used to at previous companies. Managers seems really hung up on working "shifts." In IT, it is usually expected that you work weekends and evenings if there are problems, so this old school mind set did not appeal to me.

Also, the VP's very openly flaunted their wealth and would not even say hello to normal office workers. They seemed to spend most of their time on the golf course on the company's dollar rather than actually working and not acknowledging the people who actually enabled their lavish lifestyle seemed like a slap in the face.

    Advice to Management

Allow flexibility, tone down the 1980's culture of executives flaunting their wealth in front of people who are probably livig pay check to pay check.

    Pros

Stable company with some good processes in place. Good people throughout the organization. Career development is very possible and dependent on your effort. If you get your manager on board you can accomplish a lot. Mid and lower level employees are collaborative and helpful.

    Cons

Below average pay. Manufacturing mindset to everything. Lack of diversity at senior levels. No confidence in senior management. Bottom line focus only.

    Advice to Management

Stop being so internally focused and listen to your customers. Really value your employees. Hire good people and let them do their jobs. Stop micromanaging. Pay your people an average wage.

    Pros

9/80 and those in non-management positions are always looking to do the right thing and easy to work with.

    Cons

Decisions come from VP's only and VP's are rarely on the same page.

    Advice to Management

Trust your employees, give them the tools to do the job and let them take responsibility.
