    Pros

Lots of opportunities to move around, great products and innovation. Very thorough business planning and reporting. Good graduate training schemes.

    Cons

Arrogant organisation, too inwardly focused. Progression is rapid if your face fits, for anyone else, its a hard slog. Can be ruthless when business is down. Management and business sectors disconnected. Could be much more effective in the market if they worked as one company rather than lots of separate ones. Too many chiefs. Pay is low as they benchmark on what you started on rather that on the market rate, small pay rises with promotions.

    Advice to Management

don't leave your employees to flounder and figure it out for themselves.

Best things about this company is the health insurance and the 10 hour shift most weekends you get off. Pay not bad at all for entry workers!

    Cons

Favorites and no correct way to express fairness Equal Employment a joke.

    Advice to Management

    Be fair with all employees

    Pros

    Global company
    Leader in some fields
    Big name
    Safety oriented

    Cons

    Lack of development plan
    No incentive program
    Weak HR department
Promotions only reachable to US and Europe employees
    focused on cost reductions

    Advice to Management

Eliminate the focus on cost reductions and create a more motivating career development plan for employees. Some employees loose passion for their work due to a lack a vision from top management

    Pros

    High level managers compensated well

    Cons

Outsourcing jobs is the golden rule for Emerson. Most employees work in fear of losing their jobs, and many have been forced to train their foreign replacements or lose severance pay.
Emerson is headquartered in Ferguson Missouri, and have outsourced so many jobs, it helped create the current jobless, low income environment in that region.
Pay is much lower than market. Promotions mostly go to managers and supervisors.
Managers, VP's and HR managers abuse power, and routinely retaliate if any employee challenges them.

    Advice to Management

Employees are the ones doing the work, treat them fairly.

    Pros

Stable company with some good processes in place. Good people throughout the organization. Career development is very possible and dependent on your effort. If you get your manager on board you can accomplish a lot. Mid and lower level employees are collaborative and helpful.

    Cons

Below average pay. Manufacturing mindset to everything. Lack of diversity at senior levels. No confidence in senior management. Bottom line focus only.

    Advice to Management

Stop being so internally focused and listen to your customers. Really value your employees. Hire good people and let them do their jobs. Stop micromanaging. Pay your people an average wage.
