    Pros

Caring manager and interesting work place.

    Cons

Promotion might be difficult to come across if you dont know the right string

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have more respect for the new hires, they are also the company future. In the long run they might be as important as the oldie

I worked at Emerson full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Decent opportunity to advance and be promoted. Good pay for the area (cost of living) and other comparable jobs in area. Fun picnics too. Lots of training and ability to move up within certain areas.

    Cons

Sometimes, qualified applicants within the company are passed over for outside applicants. Not always able to offer a flexible schedule. Employee reviews have no real meaning since everyone scores the same with the same comments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look harder at internal employees for promotion, even if they do not apply for a promotion.

    Cons

down sizing, cost cutting, lay offs, Great Job till they started to make cuts and lay off sales force bc of changes with HD (customer). balance of role with customer to keep sales force on

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Emerson full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

There are a lot of opportunity to grow since the company is so huge. They have several Business Groups that you can transfer to in case you're not happy with your current group. They value their employees and tries their best to provide what the employees want.

    Cons

I don't know if it's really a significant cons but you don't get to put a face in the name. Since the company is global, you get to work with a lot of different people from defferent countries whom you will never see in person unless you get to visit their site or they visit yours, which seldom happens.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You may improve on the benefits since we're always on the middle range in terms of salary and benefits compared to other huge global companies. Nevertheless, you are doing a good job!

I have been working at Emerson full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Market leader in the businesses in which they participate.
Focus on creating value for customers and investors -- through revenue growth and cost containment.
Consistent corporate culture due to continuity of leadership over the last 50 years (3 CEOs).
Data-driven approach minimizes politics, at least as much as can be expected.

    Cons

Culture does differ by business unit and division. Your experience in one location can be drastically different from another.
    Performance evaluation process is weak.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Move faster on acquisition integration. Stamp out politics at the divisional level to reflect the culture at the corporate level.

    Cons

not to easy to get there - not in the center of Cluj; not so many opportunities or things to learn for middle or senior level people

I have been working at Emerson full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Owned by Emerson Electric, which helps with training and has a regimented process, also ensures you get your paycheck every month.
-Great place to start, because of the different types of people and responsibilities of each employee.
    - Extremely nice people to work with and for, everyone is friendly and outgoing.
    - With-in the past year, they have hired more than 10 people for various positions, that are under the age of 35, hopefully this helps to foster in the next-generation for ClosetMaid.

    Cons

    - Never any interaction or team building within and outside of different departments.
    - Hard to grow into a new position as an employee.
    - Some people have a job for little to no reason in some management positions.
    - The executive staff has extremely outdated skills and management techniques, little to no computer knowledge, does not understand the next generation of worker, and are over compensated for only minor success.
    - Outdated and cramped cubicles, no windows or natural light, stinky moldy carpet, dirty and dull wall colors.
    - No interactive work spaces or places to have fun or refreshing meetings.
    - Not an inspiring place to be an employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Better understanding of the emerging trends in how a workplace functions.
    - Ability to work from home via conference calls and video calls certain days.
    - Focus on getting people in different groups to interact with each other, after working here for years, I still only know half the people in the building.
    - Update the building and space to foster interactivity with employees
    - Younger employees have less a likelihood to stay with the company because of the work environment and location of the headquarters, being in Florida only goes so far for so long.
    - Focus more on employee satisfaction, and creating a work environment that makes people want to be an employee, not dread it.
