I worked at Emmanuel College-Massachusetts full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It is small enough where you can get to know people and appreciate their work. The nuns are great. Those in admin are smart and caring. Those who do field work are fascinating and dedicated. The college has invested in facilities and programming especially around sciences. They have great opportunities for internships for undergraduates.

    Cons

Hierarchical. There is a mystique around the presidents office as she has been there for a very long time. People seem afraid of her because it's difficult to get to know her. I'm sure she has a tough job, and I know she cares about the students and the school.

I have been working at Emmanuel College-Massachusetts full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I worked at Emmanuel a few years back in a temp-to-hire position in the admissions office.

Great atmosphere with great fellow employees. Lots of camaraderie, with lots of staff eating lunch together in the dining hall each day (fine to bring your own lunch in). Very friendly and supportive deans. Set hours on my team, able to leave on time each day.

Best perk for me was being able to take graduate classes for free in the evenings. I'm sure there were limitations on number per term, etc., but they had a great graduate program in Leadership at the time that I took advantage of with great professors.

    Cons

Because Emmanuel is a Catholic school, I believe their health plan did not cover certain procedures on religious grounds.

I have been working at Emmanuel College-Massachusetts full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Within the first few months, I knew many people on campus. Emmanuel is a close knit community that is making efforts to build a cohesive learning environment for the students.

    Cons

I've had a great experience working for Emmanuel, but if I were to name a con, it would be that I wish there were more cost efficient meal options for staff, on campus.
