I have been working at Emory University as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule. Depends a lot on you advisor.

    Cons

My contracts have been for one year or 1.5 years and it is uncomfortable because you have to spend time several months before finishing looking for the next position.

I have been working at Emory University

    Pros

Supportive administration, access to beautiful undergraduate campus, and wonderful weather.

    Cons

Tuition is incredibly high. This is true for many private law schools. Emory is no exception.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More wellbeing and relaxation programs for students where they can earn credits like in the business school.

I have been working at Emory University full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Emory offers a great deal of flexibility and alternative work arrangements (work from home, telecommute, etc.). Benefits are good, especially the employee courtesy scholarship. I was able to get my MBA while working at the school for far less than out of pocket than what I would have paid without it.

    Cons

The pay isn't the best. It could be more competitive with other schools in the area. There is a need to lay out clearer career paths so that people know how they can advance their careers without having to leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on retaining talent. The cost of bringing a new person up to speed is rarely considered when making decisions about raises and such.
