    I worked at Empire Hotel

    Pros

benefits--health insurance is covered. (taken out of your check) but at a low cost.

    Cons

6 different General Managers in 2.5 years. 4 different Senior Level Execs in 2 years. 4 different Front Desk Supervisors in 2.5 years.

Many complaints. 84 cent raise in 2.3 years of service. No bonus. No promotions. Extra job title but no incentives. Very "political". Never recognized for good work. Never promoted to higher status unless a relative or a relative of a higher-up.

higher up's don't like to guide younger sales staff and share their knowledge. Most, see it as a threat and therefore, stay cold and icy at all times. Not willing to share any expertise in the trade. Each to their own. Don't mind taking a sale from you. Not team players. Don't recognize "up-sells", nor making the company more money in a dire economy.

Received letters in the mail from pre-existing accounts with gifts and thank you notes. Did not get them in my hand until a new young worker acknowledged who I was, and brought them to my desk. Hidden in HR unopened for over a year.
Tasteless, cold. Not a team environment and overall a dog eat dog company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

look into other hotels. unless your desperate for health insurance.
