    All talk, no quality

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Kingston, ON (Canada)

ProsCommunity involvement, Kingston is a great city, it's a paycheck

ConsToo top heavy - that is, for such a small company they have a large amount of upper-management level people, some of the upper-management are pretty useless as they have no idea what the lowel-level employees do, short-sighted focus, cater too strongly to sales reps, ancient computer systems, it's about who-you-know instead of how well you work, heavy on the propanganda to their employees about culture and ethics but not a lot of follow through when it counts.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed to bring in someone in VP role who is willing to objectively see all the areas not working efficiently due to outdated modes or outdated people. Then need to change a lot of people out and change from "this is how we've always done it" to "this is how we are going to do it". Need to improve on how management treats employees.

Good UGDP program, more room for improvement...

Intern - UGDP Program (Current Employee)
    Kingston, ON (Canada)

    Pros- Good rotational Program
    - Exposure to various business units.
    - Interesting projects and potential to contribute.
    - Some of the projects are really high-level, if you get lucky you may get an amazing rotation with a lot of responsibility.

Cons- many of the rotation are really boring, and you are not given enough work for your time.
    - The HR department is old fashioned, and don't retain talent.
    - Culture is afraid of change, with many long-time employees who lack the appetite for progress, new ideas.
    - Low awareness about the program, many people think you are a student.

Advice to Senior Management- Better rotational assignments.
    - Improve the culture, bring more younger people in and try to retain them.

    small town mentality

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Kingston, ON (Canada)

    Pros- low stress environment
    - generally friendly people
    - ok benefits

    Cons- hideous systems
    - senior management acts like a close knit group with no hope of new ideas coming into the company
    - they like to think they are open minded but they are not - it all about who you know
-butt kissing is the sole criteria for rising in the company

Advice to Senior Managementif you want your company to perform better, try hiring people who are smart and then listen to them. there is too much politics in who gets hired and promoted and its all based on butt kissing. this is not going to appeal to good people who can help you become better
