I have been working at Empirica full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

He is losing all the good help

    Cons

Too Numerous to start with just one.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change leadership or learn how to treat people. Very conniving and deceitful.

I worked at Empirica full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The only good thing is they have a lot of work. They will give anyone a shot to try to work. You can take off when you need or want to.

    Cons

Everything. They kept sending me green night hands that have never seen a rig. I worked several overtime hours training these people with no extra incentives, and I had to eat those hours, they wouldn't pay them. The pay scale is ridiculous, if you tell them you make this much at McDonalds, they'll pay it regardless of experience. The experience guys that just changed companies are getting paid much less. Extremely micro managed. Overall worst experience I have ever had. I worked for them for 6 months. I have been a mudlogger for 10 years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the morons. Pay the good guys, lose the trash. Get ready, 10 more decent guys are leaving soon.

    I worked at Empirica full-time

    Pros

They throw money at management, great marketing and great turnover (so openings are always available)

    Cons

Unethical, everyone is quick to step on others to get ahead, favoritism, inconsistent practices. It is a shame that such a great company fell off the wall, many of their key field staff, support or managers have either left or are eagerly seeking employment elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop running a cheap service like it had the profits of a wireline company.

I have been working at Empirica full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Empirica has a large support infrastructure that is used inefficiently. Some good long-term assignments.

    Cons

Poor pay, poor equipment, lack of competent coworkers and management, Too many placeholders and not enough driven employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Many complacent field employees, few to no happy/satisfied employees. This is the attitude the current management plan/style is producing. Pay your field staff more, a LOT more. Show them they ARE appreciated. Platitudes don't pay bills and incite more resentment towards the management.

I worked at Empirica full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Pro's? Are you Serious? They have health insurance with a huge deductible

    Cons

TOO MANY DEADHEADS which is probably why they pay so little compared to other Surface Logging Companies. Logging software is the crap. Slow too. Huge turnover in employees. They charge crazy high day rates in order to meet huge managing & clerical dept salaries. Not the best company to be with during slow times. Low pay to field hands with promises for higher pay, but never pan out. They make double on mileage than employee.Dont make the mistake of working for Empirica. Their history and reputation is actually the worst. And dont let Managing dept post below fool you. Thats just an example of how crooked, underhanded and coniving they are. They will stop at nothing to get there way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat field hands better. They make your paycheck possible.

I have been working at Empirica full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Lots of work during this time. I've stayed within 5 hours of my home base. Are pretty flexible with days off request

    Cons

Long hours - 12 hours. Have been away from home for over a month at a time. Old and slow. Raises are few and far between.
