Pros

Large company with senior executives who care about the people that work there. A good business model that could withstand for many years. A company that is diversifying to ensure it's survival. 1-800-flowers is a company that seems to reward it's employees fairly well.

Cons

Like any company, a tendancy to change when change isn't necessary, just re-focus. Sometimes does'nt seem to have a consistent focus on their own priorities. Sometimes focuses on things that seem petty, like eliminating text messages to save money.

Advice to Senior Management

Develop a strong corporate strategy and stick to it. Ensure the strategy reaches all levels of the organization from the mailroom up to the senior executives. Decide on a strategy with your retail stores, do you really want to be in the retail business?
