    Pros

Friendly staff, tremendous opportunity for promotion. Company really does a lot to make their employees feel valued, i.e. fully stocked break room, roughly 3 catered lunches a week, fun employee events such as wine tasting tours. Good benefits and competitive salaries as well. 21CT also does a lot for the community which is great.

    Cons

I don't have many complaints except that work can be a bit demanding, but that is to be expected

Employees are highly intelligent, Management squanders their capabilities

    I worked at 21CT full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Incredible group of people to work with from a research perspective. A lot of great experience and knowledge and creativity around mapping solutions to problems.

    Cons

Engineering culture feels behind - e.g. not necessarily using cutting edge tools or technologies. Professional development time is minimal, work is driven by billing to contracts and expectation is to be maximally utilized on a regular basis. Management is *very* top-heavy and research dollars are often siphoned away from projects to cover the growing set of non-billable individuals and activities, sometimes at the cost of research project success.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Thin out the management and foster a much more innovative research and development culture. Go back to building cool products that can be commercialized and move away from "hot" areas in which expertise is obviously minimal.
