I have been working at 24 Hour Fitness full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

- Great values
- plenty of locations, easy to transfer
- strong upper management group
- Great employee benefits and incentives

Cons

* very political, the higher up the corporate ladder you go the more it's about who you know
* Very membership and fitness centered ad far as career development, not a very Service based groth development
* Pay below Club Manager it's awful
* Inconsistent management training between corporate expectations and club level management

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on your club management as a whole, not just Membership and Fitness. Keep it fun for you club staff. Keep all the career growth activities ie. Management Interest Day, Club Manager Trainee program.

I worked at 24 Hour Fitness full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    -Free Gym Membership
-Awesome Co-workers (everyone that isn't management is great)

    Cons

    -The Management
    -The Management
    -The Management
-I have never seen, nor worked for, such a poorly managed company. There is constant manager turnover which leads to a total lack of cohesion
-You will not get promoted if you work in a run-down club
-The unrealistic sales goals that don't seem to coincide with reality
-The complete lack of competitive pay

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Hire managers that are qualified, not people that you know from High School
    -Treat your employees better
-Pay better (Minimum wage for a midnight to 8 am shift is just terrible)

I have been working at 24 Hour Fitness full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Free gym membership, coworkers like family, grew close to the kids and their parents and it's not a hard job at all.

    Cons

I go weeks without a day off and my gym is a bit on the older side so I'm getting constant complaints about the facility and there is nothing I can do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit making new gyms and update the ones you currently have!
