I have been working at 24 Hour Fitness full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Free gym membership, discounted personal training, lots of learning, plenty of opportunities to move up and get promoted!

    Cons

The pay isnt great.. even the managers don't get paid that well. Definitely think people put in more work and don't get paid enough for it!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I work in service... it's great but it's constantly changing. We're being required to do more and more and more (now we're required to sell memberships, while doing our current job.). Don't we have membership counselors for that? It's hard to have one job, and be required to do other jobs as well.We definitely don't get paid enough to be taking over other people's jobs.

I have been working at 24 Hour Fitness part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

-You get a free gym membership
-If you don't like dressing up it's perfect because you wear gym clothes to work
-They will help to pay for continuing education credits

    Cons

-Management pushes you to sell training packages. Apparently fitness managers get a bonus based on how much their trainers sell so that's why they can be pretty pushy
-Expected to prospect on the floor and bother even members with headphones in their ears who clearly look like they do not want to be disturbed
-fitness managers and/or assistants can be fairly young, inexperienced, and micro manage
-pay is quite low (you make minimum wage & only a small percent commission based on training)
    -some co-workers were too competitive

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Try to give your trainers room to grow on their own. Not everyone does sales the same way.
-It would be nice if management genuinely cared more about the health of members instead of just how much money they can get from them in training packages
