Great place to learn and get experience

Manager (Former Employee)
Dallas, TX

ProsThe IT department has mature processes that have been thoroughly vetted and work well. They form the basis of a model that can be taken anywhere. Learn and move on. For the most part, they have great people who are extremely knowledgeable and willing to help.

ConsIt is one of the most highly political places I've worked. Cross the wrong person, even inadvertently, and life becomes miserable until you just give up and leave.

There are basically two camps: Old Guard and Young Turks. Old Guard still winning, but they are thinning out. There are some outright vindictive VPs and Directors. Not the norm, but tolerated nonetheless.

More and more, they are turning to the field to fill corporate management positions. Be prepared to pay some heavy dues to get to management.

Advice to Senior ManagementBeware the suck-ups. They have you fooled, but not their underlings. Throw out management by authority and welcome management by influence.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

    Worst Place to work

    Sales Associate (Former Employee)
    Tampa, FL

I worked at 7-Eleven part-time for less than a year

Pros: Other staff was generally dissatisfied so there was always something… Cons: Severely overworked and underpaid. Never enough staff to keep stores… Advice to Senior Management: In order to advance you have to do these online computer classes but there is no time in your scheduled work day to do… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
