800-JR Cigar – “Save yourself, don't fall into this trap.”

The pay is decent. Everyone pretty much keeps to themselves. It has its own parking lot. Free coffee in the break room.
Cons
Don't fall into this trap. First off, you work in an office where people can smoke cigars. Yes that's right, people smoke in your working environment. They get away with this because the office is attached to a smoke shop. This also means that the health insurance offered through the company is super expensive and being the company that it is, they don't pick up much of the tab.
Next is the management. The president of the company used to be a manager of the call center. How he got promoted to president of the company is something we are all currently trying to figure out. He doesn't know what he is doing. So instead of planning a business strategy, he micromanages everything. From the artwork that goes into the catalog, to the emails that go out on a daily basis. He doesn't understand that people with college degrees that were hired to do a specific job, know what they are doing. (He doesn't have any sort of college degree) He can take a beautiful work of art and completely destroy it because he doesn't understand it. The CEO is MIA.
If you're in the art department, expect to redo an assignment 10 times before he approves the original draft. (and he'll say it was his idea) If you're in accounting, your work will never be finished because upper management will constantly screw things up. If you're in the IT side, you might be ok, because the president doesn't understand a thing about computers.
Bonuses are a joke, trying to get compensation for traveling is like having teeth pulled, and no one gets promoted. No office parties, no telecommuting, no appreciation. The company can function perfectly fine without the upper management, but they get all the reward. Bonuses for employees have been a joke for years, but the president can give himself a nice fat $97,000 bonus. It makes me sick. This is also the only company that will punish you from introducing new ideas or taking the initiative. It's not cutting edge and it's the last company to catch on, always. Now here's the worst part. MC Management is the company that pays you. That means you are employed by them. So if you try applying for new jobs, the employers wont hear of nor will they find mc management anywhere. So it looks like you're working for a fake company and you're stuck here.
