    IT systems need major overhaul.
    Hard to implement change.
Main issues due to poor middle management & lack of accountability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to those associates "in the trenches". Live up to the goals being set.
Accountability still severely lacking - Internally, but expecilly with dealing w/ C&S.
Most associates are still not appreciated.

    I worked at A&P

    Pros

    - Reasonable compensation (no bonuses though).
    - The non-management level employees are very down-to-earth, sincere people.
    - Casual dress code.

    Cons

    - Terrible mid-level to senior-level management in some groups of the corporate office. Very political environment with mismanagement of projects and employees (expect to be assigned new projects at all hours of your evenings and weekends due to mismanagement or miscommunication between managers. Almost every project assigned is done so at the last minute and due as soon as possible = same day/night, even when it could have been easily avoided). All subordinates can expect to publicly take the blame for their managers' mistakes (e.g. giving subordinates inaccurate directions in completing a project) during meetings with senior leaders.
    - Lack of respect or loyalty to the employees. My experience was that non-manager mployees, experienced or associate level, are expected to give up their personal lives, including family obligations.
    - Lack of willingness to adjust management styles/office rules to improve employee efficiency or the working environment. In addition, many employees are advised against giving honest, constructive feedback to their managers, even when asked for it.
    - Severe micromanagement (be prepared to have a manager sit on your desk almost the entire day).
    - Depending on your group, attending training sessions may not be encouraged.
    - Inadequate technology to complete projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1) Value your employees - many of them have been working hard for you for many years and truly care about the company.
    2) Improve the lines of communication with each other, especially when you're working on a project together.
    3) Eliminate incompetent managers - encourage feedback from your employees.
