AARP Employee Review
AARP – “Since he is stepping down, it isn't important”
Pros
Good benefits, great learning experience, great people to work with. My position allows me to travel on occassion, which I enjoy, but don't want to do all the time. Working in a state office is like working at a small company (with only a small staff you see everyday) but has the benefits of a large organization with good benefits, technology to do your job, etc.
Cons
It sometimes takes over your life when you are busy. I don't think HQ always appreciates the talents in the states. They sometimes come up with national campaigns or events that don't fit every state, but we are expected to participate.
Advice to Senior Management
Make more trips to state offices to find out what really goes on.
