Pros

Performance centric culture
Competitive salary
Good perks
Travel opportunities

Cons

Not consumer facing product/service, relatively unknown brand (perceived or otherwise). High resource turnover rate (struggles to retain talent). Highly regulated market segment. software and development processes governed by PCI-DSS compliance and associated industry regulations.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on employee engagement in newly acquired offices - change has largely been informative at this point but should be more tactile/intimate.

    I have been working at ACI Worldwide

    Pros

    There is now only one reason for working at ACI and that is the colleagues who are dedicated and hard working and very knowledgeable. However, these people do not know from one day to the next if they will have job irrespective of how good a job they do or how irreplaceable their knowledge is.

    Senior management run ACI not on facts, but off spreadsheets.

    Cons

    Senior management have taken an excellent company, that was like a family to work for and turned it into a company built on petty fiefdoms in which it's almost impossible to get cross departmental help. The phrase 'we are all one ACI' is an empty bell that senior management ring out at every opportunity, but the reality is the opposite.

    There is no longer any job security. There is no such thing as a job for life anymore, but it seems that at a whim of a bean-counter staff are let go irrespective of whether they are essential to the maintenance and support of the product. Staff cannot perform at their best if they do not know from one day to the next if they have a job to go to.

    They have heavily centralized everything back to the US and to low cost centres one of which has very little product knowledge or experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    There was an employee survey carried out on behalf of senior management. Three things came to light. 1) ACI Staff do not trust senior management 2) ACI Staff do not believe that senior management listen to them 3) ACI staff are not engaging with the company in a way that senior management would like.

    Senior management if they want trust and engagement must listen to their staff. Don't say our important resource is our staff when you are slapping them in the face and then making them redundant at the first opportunity.

    Pros

    - Technical people are very good
    - Ability to work on many different hardware platforms
    - Ability to work with many different software languages
    - Telecommuting possible

    Cons

    - Too many complex processes
    - No pay raises
    - Constant changes of manager
    - Forgotten what made them successful
    - Too IBM centric

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Get rid of CEO
    - Go back to what made us successful in the past
    - Simplify all procedures
