I have been working at ADP

Pros

good disciplined management focused on growth businesses and disciplined enough to exit businesses that are not growth businesses. Very focused on net operating income and earnings.

Cons

overly cost sensitive to the point that they are investing little in the business and finding it difficult to compete in certain businesses but management is pretty smart and disciplined.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

look beyond the numbers to understand the markets better and get to know employees and their ideas to focus on opportunities.

I have been working at ADP

    Pros

I work here for the pay. ADP's salaries are not the highest in the world, but the commission structure is built for people who exceed goals to make a tremendous amount of money. Flexibility and autonomy are great too, with a great team culture.

    Cons

A lot of extra meetings where people like to hear themselves talk. One of the main drawbacks to ADP is that everyone knows who you are and have had experiences with you positive or negative. Either way, the majority of people have already formed an opinion of you and your company before you even make contact.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If I could offer any advice it would be to get more proactive about hiring practices related to implementation and service.

Great job but you end up selling payroll. Not exactly life changing product.

I have been working at ADP

    Pros

Good entering position if someone is looking to get involved in the sales industry.

    Cons

It is very hard to be passionate about selling payroll. Most potential prospects don't view you with respect and can take advantage of you. Dealing with this type of business owner is kind of annoying. Also if your not passionate about payroll it is very difficult to sell the product if you don't believe in the products usefulness to begin with.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you do end up taking this position and want to excel do you best to get involved with Business Bankers and Accountants as soon as possible. They are very important centers of influence.
