I have been working at ADP full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

If you find a place that is full of great people who really care about doing good job, and it has the flexibiity and culture that you fit with, you have found a place to stay. I have been elsewhere - I stay because on-balance it is a great place to work.

Cons

It takes time to get acclimated. It is a very relationship based culture - you need to know lots of people to have career success. I am an introvert so it took time, but it was worth it. You have to have a longer term view to get it, not a place for a rocket to the top.

I have been working at ADP full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

ADP is well respected and recognized by other companies and recruiters as a leader. ADP has such a large payroll service for the US market, they provide an employment report prior to the Feds - pretty big deal. ADP hands down has a great sales force that is trained very well. ADP's HCM offerings have come a long way. ADP is a very well respected brand. If you are able to get into sales and survive, are successful you will have a leg up in your career and could make a good amount of money. If you can sell payroll you can pretty much sell anything!

    Cons

If you are looking for a great work culture ADP Major Account Services will NOT be for you. The culture is caused by a burn and churn environment where only 1 in 4 reps make it through two fiscal years. You must manage up and be very political to gain ground at first and have a decent territory. Do not expect to be treated as a sales professional if you have any prior experience. Do not expect diversity leadership is made up of generally white males especially division VP and above. There are constant conflicts over sales commissions for the reason reps compete with each other over “sales policy” and multiple other internal BUs. You can sell a deal and lose 50%-100% of the commission. A new MAS sales rep. can be overwhelmed and burned if they are not careful. Accounts are usually cherry picked for the favored reps making it very difficult to get a start.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make changes to to the Senior MAS Sales VP. Open up MAS from 100 - 2000 employees and let SBS grow the business to 100. Get ride of Core market space and management - it makes little sense and will conflict in the MAS associate sales space. Take a look at Oracle, Ultimates, and just about every other competitors setup on how they comp.

    Pros

    Work-life Balance and great culture

    Cons

Low Pay and decent employee benefits

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seek new talent outside the company. Many become too complacent and need to continue to work toward ADP's goals with pride and a go getter mentality.
