Pros

great benefits
great place to work and good commute
good salary, infrastructure, process, implementation, management,
especially if you are still at school..great reimbursement

Cons

too big..hard to move up, politics, less interactive, you have to be very independent
offset by the great benefits...laid back environment

Advice to ManagementAdvice

involve people in lower level more
too many management layers
vertical management and more independent
aggresive in looking for new creative business

Former Employee - Major Accounts District Manager in Denver, CO

    I worked at ADP

    Pros

-Strong products for 80% of businesses
-Fair compensation for early level sales personnel
-Strong payroll brand name can get you in the door
-Lots of divisions to move to if you live in teh right city, not Denver

    Cons

-Service has been sliding for quite some time
-Business public percieves that the organization is so big that they don't really care about individual clients
-Try too hard to push an Enterprise talk track that half of the DMs cannot execute because they can't tie the loose ends together
-Takes an eternity to move up usually

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Find ways to utilize potential that doesn't just fit the corporate mold
-Stop shoving complex talk tracks down everyones throats
-Regional leadership should focus more on helping/allowing individuals to move across departmetns and forget the political BS

    I worked at ADP

    Pros

Health insurance benefits were decent, good commissions in your first year, recognition and awards. good with time off and work life balance.

    Cons

Flawed commission structure. Pay at sale with major downside of negative audit after 6, 12, and 18 months. Not a true sales envrionment, sales people will sell inflated deals simply to "outrun" the landslide of negative adjustments they face monthly. Management is dreadfull. People receive promotions after only being ther a year over people with 4+ years experience and greater success. Managers in training are unprofessional, and oblivious to how to manage a team. Very negative work environment, as most hate their jobs and the structure of the division. Good place to get your feet wet, take the moeny and RUN RUN RUN as fast as you can after that first year because you will not see another commission check the rest of the time unless you you play the game and learn how NOT to sell.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the game playing, change the commission structure, trim the fat, and turn the sales people into professionals and not order takers who sit back inflate figures, cheat the system, and get rewarded for doing so.
