Pros

Great people to work with Decent starting pay for unskilled labor good vacation and sick pay especially with seniority Benefits from the day you're hired including 401k matching.

Cons

Raises are less than cost of living and often employees who have been in the company for many years will be earning the same or even less than new people just being hired. Very little room for advancement and if you do advance, very often your job or your team either dissolves or moves to another center. The company is constantly looking for and finding ways to get more work out of less people by shifting people around and cross training for multiple jobs. It give the place a stock yard feel. Communication is so poor its worse than non existent. Sometimes the managers know whats going on but don't bother to tell the employees, sometimes they have no clue either. Very often the right hand doesn't know the left even exists. This is very embarrassing when you're explaining to a customer that yes, they did tell an operator something very important but because of how poorly the company communicates between departments, that information has no way to get to me. Ridiculous QA system that forces you to say and do things that neither feel natural nor help the customer in any way. Very little positive reinforcement but plenty of nit picking over the negatives. The technology that the company uses is over 10 years old and is constantly having problems, slow downs and crashes. The company is having a very hard time getting and keeping good employees. A few years ago they made some attempts at moral boosting but that's pretty much gone by the wayside. Managers were trained in ways to let employees know that they are an important part of the whole but that's gone by the wayside too. You get lots of vacation time but unless you schedule it the year before, you can forget about using it. Its only May and there are pretty much no Fridays available for the majority of the year.

Advice to Management

The company can be a really great place to work but employees are not disposable, that's something the people in hiring and training already know. Raises should keep up with other companies with similar work, long term employment rewarded. The average person can only do a few jobs well. Expecting more is just setting them up for failure.

    Pros

Good benefits, job flexibility, freedom to do most of work from home.

    Cons

Local management was poorly trained and inefficient. Company leads are often dead ends. No base salary. Outdated sales process. Corporate training is outdated and conducted by snake oil salesmen. Product training is non-existent. Revolving door at the local level. Morale is worse than I could ever imagine. I don't know how this company stays in business with their present business model. The installers take bribes from salespeople to install their project first. It is truly a crazy environment.

    Advice to Management

Let someone else buy this company. It is obvious you don't know how to run it.

    Pros

Great benefits, great sales people around me. Training is awesome.

    Cons

I watched Resi and Small business come and go like a cattle drive with good people. Might as well hang up a revolving door. Core Commercial had awesome sales people that were treated like mules pulling a plow. If you're an old timer with referrals and their advertising call ins you'll make it but it's the lowest moral i've ever seen anywhere. Be prepared to drive 60 plus miles for a door contact. Between all the meetings, etc.. you'll be lucky to go after new business and your terriritoy is probably left from someone that was let go because it's all chopped up. Worst management ever in Dallas!

    Advice to Management

Train managers in modern day management techniques. Forget the WWII POW method of shooting one to scare the rest into submission. Let the sales people dig into a territory for referral base and customer comfort for repeat business. Stop the managers from making their sales people build quotes that don't exist (pencil whipping) just to pad the numbers for their up line bosses.
