    Former Employee - Sales Representative

    Pros

One of the best reasons to work at ADT is that the name recognition and company infrastructure is second to none. Most people recognize the logo immediately and have a fair idea about some of the things the company does.

    Cons

The flip side of widely recognized name and the huge size of the company is that anyone who has ever had an issue also recognizes the name immediately. Representatives can find themselves spending a lot of time cleaning up messes of those who came before them. This is made worse by the never-ending turnover in sales- a lot of salespeople rotate in and out very quickly. Part of the reason for this is that there are a number of complicated requirements with regard to technology, legality, and paperwork etc. Many of these are necessary due to the nature of the security industry and the type of product/service provided. That is enough to scare off some people, but the company seems to go out of it's way to further complicate the process by imposing another series of in-house requirements, multiple processes, and hoops to jump through, many of which are designed to either delay an order or as an excuse to avoid paying commissions. It's as if management just wants to get as many sales out of you as possible before you go broke from them housing commissions, get frustrated, and quit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let your people sell. Straight commission reps resent anything that takes a way from face to face contact with customers. Every meeting, redundant checklist, or cookie cutter approach requirement costs both them and you money. For example, I once had a manager tell me that it was more important to make 40 phone calls per day than to close two sales that day...Really?

It’s a job, with many rules and constant under monitoring

Former Employee - Data Processor in Irving, TX

    Pros

Steady and stable job, pay is always on time and a lot of overtime if you are a workaholic or just want extra money. Standard the health benefit and employee discount offers are included, casual dress code, and listening to music is allow on the job

    Cons

Always under surveillance, what time you come in, on break, leave, how much work done, quality of work and how many time you going to bathroom. Instead of spending so much time on monitoring your employees, why don't upper management, spend more time on helping customers and monitoring their homes. Wage is not the best out there in the market. Third World working environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Branch management seem unable to do any changes, due to the fact any changes is above their pay grade, therefore even if there are problems, nothing can be done, the people from the head quarter need to give their branch management more authority to do some positive changes, and care more about their employees instead of just focusing revenue
