Change was inevitable - don't expect a publicly owned company to act like a mom and pop

I have been working at AECOM full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Broad range of project types and locations provide good opportunites - especially for entry level and mobile emloyees. Decent pay and benefits. Recognition (that unfortunately does not always result in beneficial action) that people are the most important asset.

Cons

Publicly-owned company translates to relentless foucs on quarterly financial results and makes long term investments difficult. Some uneveness in management ranks - entitlement rather than merit.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember what got you big - good people, client focus.

I have been working at AECOM full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The company provides opportunities for teamwork, collaboration, and growth. Additionally, AECOM in New York provides creative sessions with other offices to learn new skills to make projects better.

    Cons

Overall, the pay at AECOM is subpar for the work and project size. The company has purchased so many little firms that it seems to be more interested in getting bigger than keeping employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company has purchased so many little firms that it seems to be more interested in getting bigger than keeping employees. Little is done to keep employees on the ground satisfied or promote a positive atmosphere in the offices.
