A bureaucratic engine that inhibits work productivity and employee advancement

Wastewater Project Engineer (East Coast) (Current Employee)

ProsThe company has a global presence and a works on a broad range of advanced technical projects of all sizes. Has a vast pool of extremely technical employees with a large knowledge base and historically powerful work ethic.

ConsMany competing companies were acquired, thrown into a blender, had their history wiped cleaned, and had a generic company logo thrown over their eyes. There have been design standardization growing pains, a struggle amongst technical experts to advance, and a lack of forming centralized design groups to foster technical advancement. Upper level management and leadership positions seem to change on almost a monthly basis and its often hard to say who's at the wheel. Accounting responsibilities have continuously been shifted more and more to the technical employees who are supposed to be working for clients.

Advice to Senior ManagementCut back on forcing the core technical work horses of the company (engineers and scientists) to perform menial and non technical tasks. Spend less overhead on managerial reorganization and more on design standardization and technical focus groups.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
