I worked at AECOM full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Decent pay and benefits, Good and large projects.

Cons

Unorganized (at the time), Lay off employee offen, Low Employee moral

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Direction at the top levels probably seems consistent, but to the actual employees, there was none that mattered. There was no real leader.

Negative Outlook
Disapproves of CEO

I worked at AECOM full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

They are more likely to survive an economic downturn than other landscape architecture firms because they have a lot of projects with the local military bases.

    Cons

They might tell you that you can transfer to any of the offices around the world to work on a single project and see another country. This won't happen.

I have been working at AECOM full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Interesting projects, nice office where everything I need to do my job is provided, better than average benefits, company has a lot of talented people in every facet of civil engineering. For such a huge company, the red tape really isn't that bad. Flexible hours.

    Cons

Salaries are below market. If you are considering a job with AECOM, negotiate a good starting salary because raises are pretty skimpy. Could use more IT help. Clumsy Oracle time entry system.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There has been a lot of management changes lately. Not sure if it's an anomaly or a sign of things to come as the economy turns around. I suggest doing everything you can to hold on to good people.
