AECOM Employee Review
AECOM – “Great Company Overall”
1 of 5 people found this helpfulPros
The company is very open with their employees and on top pf that the heath benefits are wonderful!! I also have enjoyed the full benefit of being able to buy company stock and having the company match at a higher rate than other stocks in my portfolio.
Cons
I have worked for two of AECOM's operating companies over the last six years (EDAW and now ENSR) and the best by far is ENSR. The office operate seamlessly and share resources which makes doing your job MUCH easier.
Advice to Senior Management
Balancing out the salaries, I have been with the company for over three years and have over six total years of experience with a MS degree and there are new hires with little to no experience coming in making as much as I am or in some cases more than I make with less education.

You gripe about unfair compensation in your office, yet you choose to stay? Who's fault is that? AECOM isn't forcing you to work there. And I thought the Florence office was closed?

To Anonymous - I also agree that a MS does not necessarily show more personal commitment but it is the easiest way to screen people during the hiring process. I also could not necessarily afford Graduate school but I made the choice to take loans out in order to stay in school, honestly I wish I would have entered the workforce directly after finishing my undergraduate but that is another topic.
I am not arguing with you about your personal commitment nor am I saying I deserve more money than you (I have no idea who you are so I can not make that judgment). My point in my comment was there are new hires with less education AND less total working experience than I have getting paid more money than I have because their hiring date fell after a matrix change.
I do not claim life is fair, I only wish the company would stick to their own compensation matrix. I am not sure if you noticed the date on my review (July 2008) which was over two years ago and I am happy to note that the gap has been closed. Also you are correct in that the Florence office is closed, however I am now working from home (which is still in Florence). As I said I chose to stay because I enjoy my other "benefits".
