AECOM Employee Review
AECOM – “The projects and my team are fantastic, but the out of touch management has led to very poor morale. Stay away!”

The projects and my team are fantastic, fun, professional people. Good office location, easy to access from all parts of the city. Flexible hours to suit everyone, whether you are a late riser or an early riser. Money and benefits are okay. Opportunities to relocate to other cities if desired.
Cons
Terrible management - out of tune with the working people. They love yes-men, no individual thinking is encouraged, unless they can steal ideas and take the credit for themselves. Anyone not possessing an engineering degree is below the level of deserving any praise or even acknowlegement of existing - unless it is to dole out reprimands. After all, everyone should be happy that they have a job at all. Raises (0 - 2 %) are pathetic at best - times are tough after all. What did the CEO earn in 2010 in salary, bonuses and stock options? Check it out - it must be tough to manage. If you are looking for a great company to work for - keep looking - this place isn't it. Poor morale!
Advice to Senior Management
Do yourselves a favor and cut some of the thick layers of management fat rather than laying off actual workers, huge money saving is the best reason. Provide so-called managers with actual communication and management training. Having a long history with the company or schmoozing with the "right" people is not sufficient training for a management position. Stop worrying about being the biggest in the world. Take the time to invest in being the best by valuing the real workers. Provide training for the many programs and updates you expect them to know and learn to do their jobs. Listen to the mood of the workers or the company will lose in the end. Remember the rise and fall of the Roman empire.
