    I worked at AEP

    Pros

Great benefits, lots of crosstraining. Teamwork!

    Cons

If you work in a plant it is a hot environment. Management is the good ole boys club...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat all employees fairly. Promote the hardest working ppl, and not the golf buddies.

I have been working at AEP

    Pros

Good pay, benefits, with plenty of overtime if you want it. Good corporate culture overall. Promote from within at the lower levels of management.

    Cons

During a recession, they get past "layoffs" by forcing early retirement, even if you don't want to retire.
In the union environment, management believes they can dictate to the union, and ignore union requests entirely.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Believe Mike Morris's advice, that you should do the right thing, because it is the right thing to do. Treat your union employees as people, not numbers.
