AIG is a decent place to work but not a place to get stuck at.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Houston, TX

ProsFriendly people, nice office space/cubicle. The location in Houston try to motivate employees by having contest, giveaways and food ect.

ConsPay is low. It is hard to move around and there is no clear structure for you to follow if you want to move up. They pay outside employees more than the loyal employees that have been with the company for year. There are people that have been with the company for 15 plus years still doing case coordination
(data entry/customer service) making less then 38K . They have been talking years about starting a cross training program which has yet to go into affect

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement should start a mentoring program so that they can motivate people to do bigger and better things within the company. I dont think an employee should be working in a call center for 10 plus years. Sometimes the Manager has to step in and start prepping that person for something better. Some ppl are afraid to move around because they are not educated or have a low self esteem. I think this is where a mentoring program would be great.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Pros: the company is recovring now. All AIG building locate in downtwon New York, a brock to Wall Street. Coworker… Cons: The cube layout is not good enough. Managers and Senior Managers have the same cube with staff and senior associates. If you have… Advice to Senior Management: see the cons. Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
