Rewarding at first - frustrating at the end.

I have been working at AIG

    Pros

Good pay - great co-workers. Paperless claims system & working on deploying a work at home program for nearly all workers.

    Cons

Inconsistent management & rules. Currently understaffed for work volume, but continually releasing employees from all units increasing the workload of the ones remaining. It was a rewarding / fun environment until 2008 when everything changed even though the US Insurance programs had nothing to do with the Credit Default Swap issues that nearly toppled the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember that your workers are people too. There is a lot of inconsistency in the application of rules / policies & procedures that seem to be dictated by connections rather than conviction.
