Current Employee - Service Delivery Director in Boston, MA
Current Employee - Service Delivery Director in Boston, MA

I have been working at AIG full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

benefits are good
work from home option

Cons

Values of the company has gone done dramatically over the past several years, as it pertains to staff knowledge and experience, as employees who are very innovated are being let go and newly hired senior management are not on the same page, so the company is stagnated and floundering.
Training - needs improvement

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Internal career paths are very hard to come by. It is out with the experienced staff and in with the new non-experienced staff, who feel they can find a better, faster, and more cost effective way to get work done better, only to find out, it already is.

I have been working at AIG full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There is tremendous opportunity for those who are willing to do their best and contribute at a high level of performance. Employee benefits are very good and AIG has come back even stronger than before. Flat organization allows greater exposure of employees to senior leadership; low administrative overhead; productivity and delivery are what really count. Many work locations available which provides flexibility.

    Cons

It is a large organization so when trying to work outside your immediate department things can take longer to complete. The company is still trying to centralize certain functions, roles and processes - until that is done it can sometimes be challenging to find out the standard way of accomplishing certain administrative tasks.

    Pros

Great learning experience for those who doesn't ind rolling up their sleves

    Cons

I never saw such demoralized environment. Managers treat their staff without any respect, staff is not trained. Review process is insulting, and not constrictive. Staff is not promoted within. No life/work balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You are only as good as your team, treat them right and you exceed any expectations.
