I worked at AIM

Pros

Their bonuses were stellar the last 2 years, and on track to be great in '12. This is partly due to Wellpoint's performance as well as AIM's
There are some decent leaders within the IT organization -- currently languishing as middle management.

Cons

The most toxic environment I've ever had the displeasure to work within. The entire IT staff is always in fight or flight mode to avoid recrimination from others outside their team.
There are so many silos -- essentially each team is a silo.
Apparently, "Yes men" are treated well, and incompetence, even at director level, is often overlooked.

Wellpoint has too much control on daily and strategic operation and is slowly downsizing the total compensation plan for employees. Benefits slowly eroded under it's ownership.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You may not care about your company's culture, but ignore it at your peril. Because there is so little focus on career growth and encouraging leadership, a toxic environment is the de-facto culture.
