    Pros

Good benefits. Somewhat flexible work schedule. Large company, so you get access to a large pool of 'resources' (people). Minimal micromanaging. Can have large swaths of downtime to work on personal projects.

    Cons

AKQA thinks the only assets at the company are art directors, copywriters, and graphic designers. The technology departments (front end and back end) are treated strictly as a production line. Don't expect anyone in the project management or account executive departments to know anything about technology. Don't expect anyone to ask your opinion, or ever remember anything you said to them about technical requirements. Do expect them to burn too much of their budget in the 'creative' phase and make up for it by squeezing your timeline.

This office of the company was taken over by an account executive last year, and it shows. Mistakes were made, a large percentage of the staff quit, and a lot of money has been lost. The office has moved to a smaller space with less privacy, but no more collaboration.

    Advice to Management

You can't afford to treat your developers like cogs, especially if you're not willing to pay market salary. This should have been made evident to you when most of your backend quit, and continues to have high turn around. You want to be a leader in technology, but you don't want to invest in your technology departments. You say that you do, but in the last three years, I haven't seen any of it materialize.

    Pros

Smart talented people. Interesting clients. New culture and wellness has added more workout classes, breakfast Monday, blue bottle cart on wed.

    Cons

They work people until they break and want to leave. Lots of long long nights. no dogs in new office. management is not the worst just needs improvement and guidance. High turnover.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate present employees vs. trying to win back old employees. Disorganized.
