I worked at ALDI part-time

Pros

The starting wage is above industry standard.

Cons

More times than not did not get scheduled breaks. Stores are horrendously understaffed yet management sends workers home if store targeted sales per hour fall short. Travel 40 minutes to get to work for a 5 hour shift and get sent home after 3 hours. Training, particularly on the non register equipment is not sufficient.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too much emphasis on speed of checkout (number of items per minute). Customers do not like to be rushed. To many of your elderly customers, this is their "day out" and should be an enjoyable activity. Taking a few seconds to smile and say hello means so much to them. Don't criticize and reprimand your workers for treating customers like they are important and welcome.

I worked at ALDI full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

-pay ( but after all is said and done its not worth it)

    Cons

    - Disrespect from every level of management, I was in management and I couldn't treat people the way they wanted me to
    - unrealistic goals and expectations that going above and beyond means you still wont hit your goals, this causes a very negative atmosphere
-young district managers, some can be okay but some are naive and believe everything the company tells them regardless of how ridiculous
-even people in the highest positions will disrespect you and treat you like trash if you aren't living and breathing ALDI all the time
-the hours are long, if you get your store the way you want it, you can just work your 50 but upper management will pressure you to always be there
-overall great pay but you will burnout trying to prove yourself to the selfish, disrespectful and just rude upper management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit!!! so people more qualified can take over and turn this good concept into a successful happy business where people can love their work and feel appreciated for the time and effort they put in
