ALLTEL Employee Review
ALLTEL – “Good fair company that treats people fair/right”

Alltel offers you great benefits and the ability to move up, should you wish to pursue it. They employ people who want to make money and support themselves. The opportunities are endless if your a motivated person that can take charge of their daily workload.
Cons
Some people may say hours, but they are fair and offer pretty great flexibility during business hours should you need it. The only downside is that if you work on the retail side you have to deal with cranky customers who don't understand what they did or are doing.
I would estimate that 90% of the time the customers are only upset because they don't understand and didn't ask questions as to what they are doing. Customers feel "entitled" on some issues that in any other industry they would get hose on.
The only other drawback is that a lot of customer service reps give out bad information and aren't held accountable for it.
Advice to Senior Management
The move to Verizon was surprising, but they didn't have much control over it once selling to GS and TPG Investments. Alltel does a good job recognizing its top performers, but should remember that the "mid level" performers are the backbone of the company and should be recognized a little more.
