One of the best reasons to work at the AMA is the people. When needed, ones coworkers are informative and supportive. The organization still contributes to employees 401K plans and it provides decent benefits for it's retirees.

Cons

Working for a membership based organization during a time when membership in such organizations is on a downturn is a downside.

Advice to Senior Management

There is an opportunity for the organization to be the prominent voice for American patients and physicians with the launching on the Obama Medical Plan. With the organization's years of experience and wealth of knowledge, now is a perfect time for AMA leadership to think outside of the box and guide the country to better health and an affordable yet profitable health industry.
