Former Employee - Senior Engineer in Singapore (Singapore)

I worked at AMD full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Informal culture. Seasonal kind of work stress.

    Cons

Top Leadership can talk a lot but do very little. Top leadership cannot deliver results hence retrench lower levels. Blame all failure on macro environment. Kind of headless chicken now.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If AMD wants to succeed, please learn to value employees like pioneer CEO, Jerry Sanders. If top leadership thinks employees are dispensable then likewise employees will also think company is dispensable.

Former Employee - Member of Technical Staff in Hyderābād (India)

I worked at AMD full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

One of the most challenging VLSI design works in the world happens here

    Cons

Poor work environment, very less soft benefits, one doesnt feel well taken care of

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve infrastructure, HR/finance/IT processes, increase soft benefits such as food, snacks, subsidy on AMD products, office commute transport, h/w such as cellphones, headphones, better laptops. In short, make the employees feel well taken care of, not like contracted labor

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
