I worked at AMIDEAST

Pros

nice people, collegial environment, interesting mission, professional development and travel opportunities

Cons

low salaries, long work day, no employer contribution to retirement for 2 years, little recognition for a job well done

Advice to ManagementAdvice

if you provide higher salaries at the lower levels, you can keep your employees happier and avoid turnover

A teacher assistant position was great, but not well paid for.

I worked at AMIDEAST part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Rewarding teaching experience since student age can be quite challenging. You get to have a say on teaching material and lesson plans and you are responsible for making sure the student's experience is functional and smooth.

    Cons

Education was very US-centric and did not encourage a more global outlook neither did it foster critical thinking.
