I have been working at AMIkids

    Pros

Teaching students who otherwise would not attend school is the most rewarding part of working for AMIkids. Watching them grow, both educationally and personally, is worth every moment.

    Cons

School is year round, with no breaks other than Federal Holidays. Teachers make less than the county they work in, and work more hours. There is little incentive to keep teachers at schools.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

AMIkids leaders would benefit from offering more incentives to their staff. Whether it be half a day off for employee of the month, to a simple "great job today!"

I worked at AMIkids full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to work with the kids who need help the most

    Cons

Those who are serious about their jobs do all of the work and those who don't sit back with no consequences. Those who do actually get the job done must work overtime to accomplish this, but no overtime pay is allotted. Some management is poor, illogical, and some even undermine the very behavioral modification foundation on which many programs are based. The company overall is disorganized, and this trickles down to the apparent disorganization in every program I have seen. As a result, most often than not, the hard workers who get the job done and do it right end up leaving the company, which leaves the latter to move on up in the ranks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Retain and promote the good workers. See through the workplace drama, bureaucracy, ulterior motives, and manipulation and eliminate the nonsense... it's supposed to be all about the kids, so can't people just act like real, respectful adults towards each other?

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
