great people to work with

upper management , there is to much of it, its almost one manager for every 3 employee's, making it very hard to get the job done

Advice to ManagementAdvice

pull the uneeded bean counters, this will help in getting product out of the door ontime. Be an industry leader not a follower.

    I worked at AMX full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Great products that are fun to work on. At one time they had the only/best products for automated control of electronics (not sure if that remains true).

    Cons

    Poor planning, adversarial relationships among some employees.

    Pros

    Idea capable with cutting edge technology,

    Need for better advertising and marketing, need to be more agile internally to respond to issues, need to expand support to dealers and endusers. No real idea about the customer and how they select the products . Does not hire innovation in the areas they are weak. Must learn the competion down to the product lines so clear differentiation can be made and verified by the channel and the users. Dealers are in charge of the customers perception of the products and services AMX should be managing. Everyone in the company should be in sales and support of the customers. Do not pay sales and support personnel in the same fashion unless you are willing to degrade the pay for those in operations when they do not deliver the products and services to sales

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Management is working like it has for the past 30 years , need to inovate in sales an support for dealers and endusers especially when you are late to delivery you full capabilities. The company is asking its dealers and endusers to trust in the new products but getting them was delayed and spotty and now the company need to commission the new lines for success if they do not want to destroy the momentum they have converting folks over to the new products. More touches with the decision makers on usage will only help overcome the lead your competitors have currently.
