I worked at ARAMARK

Pros

Advancement and ability to learn new areas of business operations and finance. I don't believe that a 100 word requirement is necessary to be able to accurately depict what a company's high and low points are related to employment.

Cons

Very specific service industry culture. There are really no other downsides to working in the organization. There are always the traditional confines of workload, budget and available resources, but for the most part Aramark is a great place to work.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work. The company works very hard to ensure that management has the education and training to excel and lead. They do a great job and it is also trickled down to the staff.

I have been working at ARAMARK

    Pros

If you are into food service (i.e-managing a cafeteria, or corporate catering) the job is M-F, and hours are better than a restaurant. has great benefits package, ample opportunity to network in the industry. You will learn to manage people and will hands on do operations. there is never down time (this is good but not after working 10 hours every day) Free lunch.

    Cons

Work 10-14 hour days 3-4times a week, with no extra compensation, Daily min of 10 hours is expected. start time 6am at most places. You can get stuck in the same position for years as promotion will only happen base upon availability and personal relationships with hiring managers. Your salary is only increase if you move from one account to another. Year review is base on corporate's nation wide perception of your activities contributing to their goals and not your actual performance on the operations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please develop strategies that will actually generate profit at component level. i.e. finding the best product for the best price, not forcing purchases to be made by a single supplier that send poor quality items for very high prices.

Every client is different and has different demands...cookie cutter strategies do not fit every account. Accounts should be able to use their talent (associates) accordingly. i.e . If my cooks are amazing at making certain dishes they should not be force to use a recipe developed poorly
