I worked at ARAMARK full-time (less than a year)

Pros

They paid me a decent wage
My colleagues were all friendly and supportive
I enjoyed being given Instant responsibility

Cons

Management were sometimes reluctant to make changes
Over an 8 hours shift would have nothing to do for 4 hours and then be swamped for the other 4 though that's the nature of the culinary industry perhaps.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The team could be used more effectively. We never had the correct number of staff - always too many or too few.

    I have been working at ARAMARK full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great company, good people and long term growth ability.
    The company is huge, 250K+ employees, so there is a lot of opportunity for advancement- especially if you live a populated area with a lot of accounts nearby or you are willing to relocate.
    From an HR perspective the company tries to do what is right for the employee and the company, sometimes those two things conflict however.
    Good benefits
    Fun work environments like Higher Education or Sports accounts

    Cons

    Clients have too much control sometimes
    Each account is different, many accounts are amazing places to work or others could have a poor manager/challenging client that can sour the employee experience

    I have been working at ARAMARK full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    I've been with Aramark in the uniform division for over 20 years and love the freedom to earn whatever you want. Hours typically start at about 5-6am till about 3-4pm. Performing a good job earns you much more freedom than the mediocre employee. Yearly contests are a nice bonus for the employee/spouse.

    Cons

    Certain positions within the organization have an unlimited amount of "nine lives". No accountability for certain employees make a routesalesrep's job so much harder to perform on a day to day basis.
    Certain aspects of my job are definitely out of my power to ensure customer satisfaction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hold people accountable for their subpar performance. Employee training is the key for all concerned in the service department.
